What is Adobe Creative Cloud
Adobe Creative Cloud is a suite of Adobe applications including

Even though it is called Creative Cloud, these applications are installed on your computer and not running in the cloud. Creative Cloud does include some cloud storage for documents and cloud based assets like fonts and templates.
Licensing Information
Carleton licenses Creative Cloud for some users. Faculty and staff who have a license can install Creative Cloud applications on two computers where they are the primary user. This includes personally owned computers.

Installation Instructions
Faculty and Staff
- If you don't already have one, create an Adobe ID.
- If you are upgrading to a new version of Acrobat or Creative Cloud applications, please uninstall any previous versions of Adobe Creative Cloud applications. You do not need to uninstall Adobe Reader.
- If the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app is not installed on your college-owned computer, please install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app from the K1000
- If you are installing on your personal computer, download the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app from Adobe
- Click on the next to the clock on your computer (or find the Adobe Creative Cloud application in your Mac Applications folder or Windows Start Menu)
- Sign in with your Adobe ID
Click on Apps
Under My Apps and Services, you will see a list of applications that have been assigned to you
Click Install next to the Adobe application you wish to install
Windows users will no longer need to provide their .admin password to install or update their Adobe products.
If you need to install older versions of Adobe applications
Click on the next to the clock on our computer (or found in your Mac Applications folder or Windows Start Menu
Click on the three vertical dots on the upper right corner and select Preferences
Click on Creative Cloud
Click on Show Older Apps
Click on the < in the upper left corner to exit the Preferences
Under My Apps and Services, you will see a list of applications that have been assigned to you
Find the Adobe application you wish to install
Click on the v on the Install button and select manage
- Click Other Versions
- Select the desired version

Contact the ITS helpdesk to request an installation.
Please uninstall any previous versions of Adobe Creative Cloud applications. You do not need to uninstall Adobe Reader.
When downloading or installing Adobe apps, you might get an error that indicates you have connectivity or stability issues. To fix these issues, try the following solutions in order.
You require an Internet connection to download and update apps. Verify that you are connected to the Internet and click Retry.
Software firewalls restrict access to your computer. Some software firewalls prompt you when a program attempts to access the Internet. Users have reported instances where software/hardware firewall settings caused download errors to occur. The most common error associated with this issue is error 205. Other errors could result due to the firewall’s configuration.
- If f prompted, allow the Creative Cloud desktop app to access the Internet.
- If you are not prompted, disable software firewalls temporarily to determine whether they are preventing Internet access. See your firewall software documentation for help.
Note:
If you can’t locate the documentation to temporarily disable the software firewall, disable startup items and services. This should disable most software firewalls. For specific instructions on how to disable startup items and services, select your operating system from the list below:
Temporarily disable the antivirus software. See your antivirus documentation for information on temporarily disabling virus check.
Adobe Creative Cloud Mac Home Feed Cannot Download Apps Free
Many organizations use a hardware firewall and proxy server that can prevent software from accessing an outside server. A hardware solution applies to all computers within the corporate network. Most home networks don't use hardware firewall or proxy technology.

- Contact your company’s IT department to obtain firewall or proxy information.
- Configure your browser with proxy or firewall information.
- Configure your corporate firewall to bypass the servers. The following servers are accessed:
- ccmdl.adobe.com:80
- swupmf.adobe.com:80
- swupdl.adobe.com:80
